The Payroll Assistant I for Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) will assist with the preparation, updates, and changes to employee payroll information. The Payroll Assistant I will evaluate the accuracy of time and attendance date; also assist employees with payroll questions, issues and processes wage and employment verifications. The Payroll Assistant I will work under close supervision of the payroll supervisor. Responsibilities of the Payroll Assistant I role includes, is not limited to, the following;
+ Assists in the payroll process; reviews payroll process to ensure that time is properly approved and pay is properly calculated, review sub-system interfaces to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
+ Prepares employee data related to pay to ensure proper check amounts, deductions, and deposit information. Accurately enters information from employee request forms or vouchers into the appropriate screens within PeopleSoft.
+ Answers basic questions and resolves payroll issues to assist employees in understanding payments, procedures, procedures, and/or problems.
+ Updates time and attendance information into API and prepares data to ensure proper payroll amounts.
+ Prepares responses for wage and employment verification to respond to requests by employees or other outside entities.
+ Processes special check requests to correct errors or make special payments.
+ Maintains database information related to absences, PTO, EIB, and other payroll deductions.
